Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma |
Glaucoma is a chronic degenerative disease which means that it occurs slowly and the condition usually worsens over time. Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma is often asymptomatic, which means that it develops without any signs and symptoms. A person usually discovers that he has developed Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma in the late stages whereby there is already significant loss in vision, which is irreversible. Hence we recommend people above the age of 45 and people with a family history of glaucoma to go for annual eye check-ups to examine the health of one’s optic nerves.
